Animation & Game Direction

I did my masters degree at the Animation and Game direction study course at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

As part of the degree, students learn advanced theoretical knowledge and methodological competencies to develop leadership skills and learn standards in the creative industries.

In the first semester, students get taught about current academic topics in the creative industries, mise en scene for animations and games, creative producing, acting and directing actors, production management, concept and IP development, and leadership.

Then, in the second semester, students get taught further academic topics, concept development, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, students direct a semester project and a team of bachelor students, creating a vision for it and ensuring that it is upheld by directing the bachelor students who realise the project.

In the third semester, students write their master thesis, developing a practical thesis project alongside it.
