Short summary

Tale of a Blind Fisherman is an audio-based game, meaning that the game no visuals except some helpful (but not needed to play the game) user interface elements. The player plays as a blind man, playing through a single day in his story. Players move around by listening to audio cues which allow the player to orient themselves. Additionally, players can go fishing and catch fish with audio only.

Development context

Tale of a Blind Fisherman was developed as part of my Bachelor Thesis. I worked on this project together with two other students from my semester and a Sound, Music and Production bachelor student, all of us writing our own theses.

Roles and contributions

Programmer

Together with another programmer I programmed the entire game. I focused on programming the fishing part of the game, the user interface and accessibility functionality, and other smaller parts.

Lead game designer

As the lead game designer I designed the audio based game mechanics of navigating and moving around with sound only and the fishing part, as well as the game's accessibility aspects.
